Re: Snuck
Pretty sure sneaked would be more common in the UK, but snuck could have gained credence I guess, like the awful shrunk as the past tense of shrink.

Re: review
From my perspective, a review of anything could be thorough or otherwise. It doesn't imply any particular level of study.

Re: Thigmotropism
If I burst into tears (as I do) at the first scene of sentimentality in a movie, does that make me thigmotropic? I am certainly moved by touching things. :D don't watch those Dog's Purpose / Journey films then whatever you do. Even me, cynical and hard bitten as I am was like a fire hydrant. Despit...

Re: Moreish
Good point sharply made sir! So we've established there are two kinds of -ish suffix: a) a generic modifier of a woolly nature which adds nothing to a speaker's meaning but is perhaps a 'valley' style space filler b) the British fashion for making an informal, slangy expression from such modifier th...

Other specific meanings:
- loose stone (at least in Britain), basically gravel, though non-gravel may also be aggregate
- functions - or operations - on sets of data, e.g. average is an aggregate function, if you calculate a median you aggregate

:D I guess your sources are probably right George it seems our national viewing tastes swing that way. I'll sadly  never know in reference to Love Island. I have recently watched some of the US show Euphoria though, you seem to manage racy OK nowadays to be fair  I do actually like the sh...

Re: Moreish
Moorish and moreish are certainly homophones in UK English. I don't think Moorish would be used except in an obviously historical way in the UK though so it would be pretty clear contextually. We don't think of Moorish as meaning Islamic - it refers specifically to Muslims from the Iberian peninsula...

Re: Moreish
It's used commonly in the UK :D This is the comedy I always think of in connection with moreish, from the absurdly cringey Peep Show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbQIAp2QAUg I'll be honest, I'm not sure the show's sharp UK humour would cross the Atlantic successfully, but it was certainly funny ...

Perhaps it is more Cumbrian than Geordie if you read it right. They're not a million miles apart TBF:
