Re: Bully
Have to disagree here, bully is not outdated at all. Especially now that it's gained a prefix. Has anyone not encountered the term cyber-bullying?

Re: Labor
Just think, only 4 years ago we were deep in the throes of covid. I hope all your labors during that time allowed you to stay healthy.

Re: Party
Party - Partisanship. Sigh.
There's a phrase I've seen both ways, "Friends don't let friends vote (fill in the blank with your undesired party)." I have a different take on it: "Friends make sure friends vote!" Add 'can' before vote as needed.

Re: Mean
I just took a gander and discovered this one's even more complicated than I thought. We've got a noun, verb, and adjective that are related, but then we get another verb and another adjective, each with their own roots. Oof! On a side note, my spellcheck doesn't like oof, but one of the suggestions ...

Re: Labor
I wonder when the corporate hegemons will get the idea of declaring Labor Day the day when all labor is voluntarily donated for the good of the company.

Bombastic blather seems to be what the hoi polloi eat up these days. We don't have too many great orators anymore, do we?

Re: Labor
Tomorrow being labor day, and this being the 5th anniversary of this post, it's a good time to resurrect it and wish all laborers a great day of not laboring tomorrow! Have a Happy!

Re: Scramble
Is there an actual game out there called Squabble? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Squabble might not be a bad Good Word, by the by. I just back from a rabbit hole of wandering during which I found out it can be definitionally related to nibble (another thought for a GW suggestion). After all, if ...

A related word, used on the license plates of the registered cabs I've seen in my area, is livery. Maybe that's what we should call the unlicensed cabs currently calling themselves "rideshare". There's a misnomer if I ever saw one.

Re: atrabilious
The 'atra' part is in atrium (a good GW?) and atrocity.
Given the meanings of bilious and melancholic, I'm not convinced they are synonyms. Atrabiliious and melancholic, perhaps, but not simply bilious.
