Welcome, Cacasenno; post early, post often.

The Befana is often disguised in the US as the Kitchen Witch. This gets her into many neighborhoods with minimal difficulty (although I have family who blanch at such debbil things).

Etymonline gives Epiphany
c.1310, "festival of the manifestation of Christ to the gentiles" (celebrated Jan. 6; usually with a capital -E-), from O.Fr. epiphanie, from L.L. epiphania, neut. pl. (taken as fem. sing.), from Gk. epiphaneia "manifestation, striking appearance" (in N.T., advent or manifestation of Christ), from epiphanes "manifest, conspicuous," from epiphainein "to manifest, display," from epi- "on, to" + phainein "to show." Of divine beings other than Christ, first recorded c.1667; general literary sense appeared 1840, first in De Quincey.
There's also an unexpected link to Tiffany
Theophania "Theophany," another name for the Epiphany, from Gk. theophania "the manifestation of a god."

For Breakfast at Tiffany's, let them eat cake.

Hell, you can't get ONE cat to do ANYTHING, let alone EIGHT!

Stargzer is mulling over how to deal with his new (ab)used dog, Dudley, who is part Basset and part Beagle, with the best and worst of both breeds included, along with the jaws of a timber wolf and the avocation of a phlebotomist.

We knew he had anger management "issues," but they are more serious than we thought. A sweet, lazy, laid-back Dr. Jekel can suddenly turn into a viscious Mr. Hound. Stargzer still retains the use of his hands, albeit on an alternating basis as of late.

And if Stargzer ever finds the sonofabitch that abused Dudley in the first place, well, let's just say he may get an up close and personal demonstration of how Bloody Point on the south end of Kent Island got its name.

Dudley on a scent! (Stargzer's Ringtone!)

Well, he's got a trade. He can earn his own keep. And you are earning huge merit points in Dog Heaven.
Think of what you could charge for lab scans -and- blood work...
Dudley on a scent!
Yeah, you warned us. But still. Talk about an epiphany: Dom was sleeping on the back of the couch when I clicked the link. He leapt straight into the air, fell down to the floor behind the couch, and came around with a reproachful look in his eyes when he saw me laughing. He has now regained the couch, but is sitting in mute outrage with his back pointedly towards me.
I will now have to sleep with one eye open for a couple nights, until he forgets...

so Dudley refuses to obey And wanders?

get him fixed and teach him you are the boss. No, it doesn't take beatings to establish dominance. Get a good fence.

He's fixed (well, let's say he's neutered, not fixed; something's still wrong with his intra-cranial wiring), the yard is fenced, and when out of the yard he's on a leash. He was abused before we got him.
