With the rise of the euphemism "effing," I wonder if "effable" is taking on a new meaning in the cited work ... :-ÞThis word stretches from the sublime to the silly.
Shrinklits: Seventy of the World's Towering Classics Cut Down to Size includes a summary of Lolita. It includes the line, "She was ineffable and yet, as effable as she could get."

I came across ineffable in an old rendition of the Bible verse, 1 Peter 1:8 where it says "ineffable joy" and had to look it up. (Knox version, now out of print).
