Besides -- since we're talking about rhyming compounds -- my own first experience hearing about hara-kiri was during an episode of The Flintstones, where Fred referred to it as "Harry Carry." (Or was it Barney who said it? I'm not sure...)It is surely unfair to dismiss Hari-Kari on the basis that it is Japanese
Which, BTW, led to me dismissing the baseball announcer Harry Caray's name as either a joke or a pseudonym the first time I heard it. *That couldn't possibly be his real name, could it?*
