Punctilious

Postby kate » Sat Jan 21, 2006 10:56 am

What a wonderful word!

I must admit that I myself could be described as being punctilio, meaning that I have a habit of being formal, fussy, pedantic and pernickerty............,much to the annoyance of some people.

Strangely that doesn't transpire in your writing.

That's probably because she can let her alter ego cut loose here in the AlphaAgora . . . :)

Brazilian dude,I respect you for stating your opinion but would respect you even more if you would be so kind as to give an explanation for your reasons. I am not beyond critisism.

As I have previously explained I am not and would never even try to be Mrs know-it-all although I do have a certain admiration for the people who are but I have no respect for people who are patronizing and condescending as this only shows a huge lack in skill on their part.

Well if that is the context that it was meant well then I take it back and an apology is in order. Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks and a simple case of paranoia developing.

BD is the old-world gallant kind-o-guy, always err on the side of kind with him.
I noticed that Dr. Goodword's pernickety was used, he'll like that, I always thought the word was persnickety but he....... well, he'll notice I'm sure.

Okay, then let's punctiliate this: The Alpha Agora, where webminded verbivores shop ideas. I would have said shop for ideas and www.merriamwebster.com seems to take my side. Place your bets.
