Lovely phrase! And verrrry useful! :-).
It was so intriguing a word i looked up a few things and apparantly, the term is also used outside the field of theology (moral theology): here and here.

The first time I heard the expression invincible ignorance, was on the original show of The Odd Couple. I thought it applied so beautifully. I use it a lot myself, now. It applies to those whose ideas oppose mine. I KNOW I'm *RIGHT*, LOL
