CULACINO

Postby Bailey » Tue Sep 12, 2006 7:45 pm

The mark left on the table by a moist glass - (Not surprisingly, this one comes from the Italian)

An extremely useful word. How could I have overlooked it, with all the moist glasses I've handled (and mishandled) in my life? I wonder - he asked musingly - who invented the beermat? I wonder that there isn't a Nobel Piece Prize for such humble, but critical, contributions to civilization.

(Pausing for a momento, and somewhat absentmindedly, the author accepts a postprandial cup, sips, and places the glass on his desk. Ah...the desk is also glass. The culacino can simply be spirited away with the help of a dirty dishrag.)
