Argute

Postby Grogie » Tue Oct 10, 2006 1:23 pm

Shrill(as a sound) or sharply serrate(as a saw). Definitely a word that deserves more usage.

Ar·gute
a.
[L. argutus, p. p. of arguere. See Argue.]

1. Sharp; shrill. [Obs.] Johnson.
2. Sagacious; acute; subtle; shrewd.
Interesting etymology.

I don't like to be shrill, but I am all for sagacious.
