Fictional espionage and sluething are vaults of tantalizing words, ripe for the picking; keep them coming. Can you drop another clue to the identity of your writer?

Isn't' it related too...

Postby eberntson » Fri Nov 10, 2006 1:21 pm

Wouldn't cahoots be somehow related to a "cohort" which is a measure of a unit in a Roman legion. You can see where the French would have the "Gaul" to use this as a grouping of bad, bad men.

I don't know, I'm just fouling a ball here.

That's exactly what I was thinking, and said, weren't the Roman Soldiers all in cahoots with each other to take over the world?

It just seems to me that a group of folks can be in cahoots to plan a, say, Birthday party, not such a bad thing.

I'm sure our cohorts here won't let us down in advancing and unleashing their barbs.

My carhops when I let the clutch out too fast.

Meanwhile, I just love Eberntson's foul ball metaphor above. It strikes me as something out of left field that nevertheless hits home. Can I steal it?

I liked his:
where the French would have the "Gaul"
comment. He must be one of us (if he wants to survive among our crowd of merry punsters, that is  )
