First heard this term 25 years ago when Mt. St. Helens burped...

Any other javanese words in use in english?

Anyone who was there for sure remembers it! It does seem like yesterday. At the time I was about 100 miles east (downwind) of it near Yakima. An incredible couple of weeks followed. Things I'll never forget like seeing multi-colored flame in the clouds and multi-directional lightning. We got about 9 inches of powdery ash that feel so heavily that that it was night for nearly two days.

Now, I couldn't tell you what I had for breakfast, but I won't forget that.
