paydirt

paydirt

I think it comes from the early days of gold prospecting in Canada/USA. If you found a gold-bearing seam in the ground you said that 'you'd hit the pay dirt'.

mark any-other-ideas? Bailey

I know my big composter is full of some wonderful paydirt of a different vein.

Much, much better than hearing someone shout "HIT THE DIRT!"

If one hits pay dirt, does he buy things dirt cheap or is he still dirt poor?

I'm not sure Gail, I'll ask my Gneiss she's a Geologist. Could be just a bit of sandstone or py right?

Paydirt is the bedrock of our society donchaknow. Shale we marble this evidence in a firm granite way? It could be we Mica find we'll lava more in time, But we can't do much if we are sedimentary, we'll have to start panning for the flecks Au? There's a 196.96 chance that we'll be igneous if there's no more study.

I zinc you've panned out the best puns, Bailey; I yield the fluor to you and your multi-facetted gneiss. But you can't fault us for trying to ferrate out more.

No schist! As usual, our Renaissance Grail is no igneous remus.

Can't take much for granite round here.
