epoch

Postby William Hupy » Mon Feb 10, 2014 10:16 am

I realized that this word, meaning "the start of a new period of time", could be coupled with epic, meaning "grand" for an epic epoch. Funny that these words do not appear to be related.

Can't epoch refer to a whole period of time rather than just the beginning? As for example we lived during the Beetles epoch, the whole five or ten years or so.

I agree, Perry. Epoch has that meaning also.
