A sickness or illness. ''He wasn,t feeling good and suspected an illness might be coming on.'' The word can also mean ''sorrow''.

This one is so old, only a half dozen dictionaries carry it--none of which have any etymological hints. Pull in a little bit out there in left field, Grogie. Just a tad.

How's about a different "-tude" word? Attitude. Whence cometh the whole "-tude" ending, and just what does it mean to be atti? Then we can throw in approaching a situation with "tude", too.

We just had turdiform, so why not tudiform, to boot? Or should we go with tudistic? Or maybe, even, "Look, dude. I don't appreciate your tuditude. Capeesh?"
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
