fervid
You can use this word, meaning glowing, burning, OR you can ramp it up to "perfervid"(not perverted) which means completely burned up, maybe even vehement, perfervid, that is, not perverted.

Re: fervid
Does anyone else feel that this word carries a somewhat, or even blatant, pejorative meaning? The per- prefix makes me feel that the fervidity has perhaps been carried too far.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

Re: fervid
Not necessarily. As a writer, I might use the term to refer to a lawyer, fervid for his client, or an activist, fervid for his cause.
