immanent

Postby William Hupy » Fri Mar 20, 2015 9:09 am

OK, what gives here? As if distinguishing between dessert and desert was not difficult enough, now I have to contend with: immanent, imminent (which always seems to be used in conjunction with danger), eminent (which always seems to be used in conjunction with domain). The first of these means dwelling in and, I think, is used mostly in a religious context, such as God dwelling within the material world.
