November's words

Postby Dr. Goodword » Wed Oct 26, 2005 3:38 pm

Here is the list of words from this forum that I am working with for November's Good Words:

klutz (related to clot)
whippersnapper (just too funny to resist)
snuck (a chance to talk about acceptable irregularities.
termagant
anhedonia

crudivor(ism) (sounds too much like a crud-eater to ignore)
litigious
bahuvrihi
dharma
uncronopio suggested dharna (no not dharna sock) but I think we should do this one first.
borborygmus an old favorite of this gourmand-gourmet

These will be mixed in with our running list, which now includes:

progeny
finnan haddie
cusp
splay
facility : faculty
passel
tenacious
emanate
redolent
heterography
dissipate
sang-froid
truculent
avert
florid
vaunt
mandala
prolix
ostensible
palanquin
enervate (innervate)
vapid
insipid
pell-mell
triturate
alacrity

Share with me anything interesting you know about any of these words.

We may not run all these words; that depends on what we find when we do the research on them. Most should come to your emailboxes before Xmas, though.
