recuse

Postby William Hupy » Thu Jun 11, 2015 11:05 am

This word is not often used outside a specific context. I am advocating for an expanded utilization. It has an honorable beginning in Latin "recusare". Now it means in the law to reject or challenge a judge as disqualified to act. Is it possible for unscrupulous politicians to recuse "donations"?

I've seen it used in other branches of government, both legislative and executive when those involved with legislation or regulation recuse themselves because of personal or family business connections.
