Bail

Postby Grogie » Tue Dec 06, 2005 7:04 am

Today I discovered a little-known meaning for this word. It can also refer to the arched handle of a teakettle or teapot.

A bail is also the finding attached to a pendant or bead, through which a chain or cord is passed in jewelry.

Interesting to note that not only bail but also finding has usages which are uncommon and presumably also unknown to the general public....
