Down with Women!

Postby Slava » Sat Nov 08, 2014 2:17 pm

...as an adjective, that is.

Here's a nice little piece by one female editor on the omnipresence of "woman/women" as an adjective. I agree with it. I've been wondering for some time why we no longer have females anywhere.

Another tempest in a teapot. Only time to use woman or female as adjective is in a case where the distinction is important. In most cases why mention gender. One could in fact say man or male beautician since normally we expect a beautician to be a woman.

I believe that was the gist of the article. Unless the gender is important, why use any identifier?
