Perfervid

Postby Grogie » Sun Apr 23, 2006 6:03 am

I learned this word today. It seems like it should be used more often. It means ''extremely passionate or zealous''.

I most fervently agree; this word deserves more air time.

Here's a way to use it, "It was Shakespeare's most perfervid imagination that gave English so many of it's greatest words."

Why have I chosen Shakespeare to use in my example? Can you guess? Yes, there is a reason.

One should be careful using the word however, because
of its rhyming similarity to perverted, and it could be
misunderstood.
