A way of using this in contemporary terms:

The Governor of California could have said "missish men," instead of "girly men."

While it has an alliterative advantage, I'm not sure that "missish men" was the connotation he wanted to convey. Girly men it shall remain.

Missish sounds like it could have been an ancient tribal group, always being drawn into fighting against -- and losing to -- Hittites! :lol:
