glottogony

This is a really fun word to say: glottogony.
It's pronounced "glott-a-gu-ny."

It means the study of the origin of language.

Excellent word, AikidoLizard. This means that etymologists are also glottogonists. Now if one of our wittier members can come up with some pithy quip pairing erogenous with glottogonous.
