Shy Anne Y. Ohming
Does anyone know shy Anne Y. Ohming? Lovely girl, I've heard. Lives somewhere out west, they tell me.

Came very late to this discussion, researching mondegreen i found in James Gleik's book, The Information. I'm surprised no one tumbled to Pogo who was the master, e.g. deck us all with boston charlie, or bark us all bow-wows of folly. And good king saurkraut look out on your feets uneven. Then while shepherds washed their socks by night all seated round the tub. They go on and on. And so can I!

Do you folks know about kissthisguy.com? It's a site that collects mondegreens, and accepts user submissions. I haven't been there in awhile, but if I recall correctly they have articles on both "kiss this guy" (every so often Hendrix would stand next to his bass player as he sang the line, then peck him on the cheek) and "mondegreen."

Re: MONDEGREEN
I was on Scopes.com just now and found this list of Christmas mondegreens.
I have to say, though, that many of them feel contrived to me. That is to say, not really mondegreens. Fun, though, and in keeping with the season.

Yes, some seem very contrived. I rather like See the blazing Yulbie Forest, though.

I was hoping it was a real place, but no such luck.Yes, some seem very contrived. I rather like See the blazing Yulbie Forest, though.

Mondegreens are delightful mistakes which cannot be contrived anymore than the spontanity of a rainbow or a laugh can be recreated.

My wife and I are both somewhat hard of hearing. Therefore we have some hilarious conversation. It might be fair to post a sign saying Mondegreen lives here!

Jose can you see by the dawn’s early light.
A child drew an illustration of "America the Beautiful ". He drew a purple mountain with a boy standing on top looking down on some airplanes with apples, oranges, and grapes attached to them. He explained those were the fruited planes.

It is dark at night, but the Sun will come up and then we can see.
