As a verb, it can mean imitate or ridicule. As an adjective, it's an imitation, as in mock orange or mock turtle soup. And then there's the mockingbird.

Seems we don't really know much about where this one's from. It may, however, come from the ridiculing notion of blowing one's nose at something.
