morose

Postby Eileen Opiolka » Sun Oct 29, 2023 12:47 pm

A grey day here, but warmth at home keeps moroseness at bay. Isn't "morosity" an ugly word?

"Morosity" is a monstrosity.

It's grey and drismal here too, but we've just reThéotime Langlois de Swarteturned from a delightful concert of "the flamboyant Baroque", music played on violin and harpsichord, with a "walk-on" cellist conscripted for the bass accompaniment of Corelli's "Follia" (more variations of "La Folia"; I think every European composer up through the 18th century wrote a set). The musicians were Théotime Langlois de Swarte (violinist) and Justin Taylor (harpsichordist), on their first tour of the U.S. They'll dispel any hint of morosity with their youthful exuberance.
