I know, understand and appreciate the policy of the good doctor to shy away from double word words, but after last nights debate I am compelled to submit this word. Ad hominem are attacks against the person...the lowest form of debate.

Is it still ad hominem when the attacker goes after the opponent's family? Or does it have to be about that person specifically?
