A related word (not yet featured here) is cancrizans. This odd-looking word is a musical term with the following meaning:
A canon in which the second voice (or instrument or part) repeats the notes of the theme sung or played by the first, but in reverse order. Also known as a "crab canon".
(From the present participle of the Medieval Latin verb cancrizare = to move like a crab. Crabs actually move sideways, but they were once thought to move backwards!)
I should add that I am a music teacher, pianist and classical music enthusiast.
