On a previous thread, Verbum called our attention to the dilemma regarding the spelling of «dilemma». Thus inspired, I thought I'd propose the above word as an example of the one remaining -nym that Dr Goodword has not proposed as GWotD. Dating, it would seem, from 1579, the word is intriguing, not least as no firm evidence with regard to its origins seem to exist....

Wending my way through the unanswered posts, I came across this one. The word's been done, here:

However, I haven't quite twigged to why it's a -nym, as mentioned in the original post.

I'm in a quandary as to why it's a -nym, myself.
Loose vowel syndrome, I like that.
