Anocracy
The book I’m reading used this word to designate governments which are neither democracies or autocracies but somewhere in between. From anarchy, but not meaning absence of government, but absence of dominion…whatever that means. Any comments?

Re: Anocracy
This word is very new, appearing in no major dictionaries. It should mean "without power", an- no, without" + -cracy "power, governmenet". I can't find enough to work with.

How about - as was the previous US administration -
‘government by a******s’?
‘government by a******s’?

Re: Anocracy
If I understand the *** correctly, would that be 'analocracy'? Rule by buttheads?
On a serious note, I'm thinking this might be 'an' 'ocracy,' or 'a' form of 'ocracy'. As in, "There's some form of power here, but it's rather amorphous, so we'll just call it anocracy."
