Gasconade (n) No, this isn't some new fizzy drink ... It means 'extravagant boasting; boastful talk' and comes from the French gasconner meaning 'to boast.'

While gasconade may not be a new drink, it does fit well with sports. Just think of all the bad-mouthing of the opponent that goes on before any match.

"Not doing well this season? Try the NEW Gasconade! It'll pep up your banter and make you feel like a new man!"
