I can hardly see a difference between 2. & 3.. Maybe I am obsolete and/or moribund
(just to to keep up with the morbid line)

An excellent word that we need to see treated here.
I agree with Perry, #3 is a noun.
I also often think of this word in a slightly different sense when I come across the names of some of the previously active posters on this board. They are moribund, in the sense of stagnant, essentially "dead" here. Would that we could revive them.
