juxtaposition
juxtaposition
Could you tackle this word sometime, please? I have Googled around, and while I'll admit I am not a champion Googler, nevertheless, information seems to be sadly lacking. I am also trying to find out how this word is different from propinquity. Thanks for your help.

Propinquity is simple nearness in place or time.Could you tackle this word sometime, please? Juxtaposition often implies placing things near or together in order to compare them. Or for contrast. It also means placed or situated side by side.
So things in juxtaposition are in propinquity, but things that are in propinquity are not necessarily in juxtaposition.
Here's what the Good Dr. had to say on propinquity back in 06: http://www.alphadictionary.com/goodword ... ropinquity
Hope this helps.
