boor and vulgarian

Dr. Goodword might want to segue today's entry, "genteel", with either "boor" or "vulgarian." I imagine them uttered with refined contempt by Ronald Coleman.

Or as in the movie "Singing in the Rain." After RF, the producer, has shown his guests a short demonstration of a talking film, one of the guests drippingly haughtily declaims, "I think it's vulgar." Great line.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

But he used "clodhopper" instead.
