Old-fashioned look
To give someone or something an "old-fashioned look" is to look at him/her/it disapprovingly.
Does anyone know the origin of this expression? I have been unable to find an explanation for it.

It seems to be a British expression.

Perhaps the implication is that people were more censorious in the past.
