Lithe ... In lithuanian "laisvas" sounds exactly the same. The meaning is also almost identical to the usage of the word in certain situations

Laisve - noun. 1) Freedom 2)Flexibility

I do like that "most lithe and graspable of waists" part. Now if only I had one.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

Very pretty word, conjures up many nice images.
Lithe I am not, either. But I still like the word.
