Here is another word that is commonly coupled with another. "Cast asunder" rings familiar. Does asunder have a relationship with any other word or is it monogamous?

Torn asunder and weakened by civil war and political intrigue, the country was easy prey for outside invaders.

Traditional vows so he "what God hath joined, let not man put asunder." Translated into the vernacular it says something like "now you are hitched. Stay that way."

Handle quoted a KJV Bible verse, "Let us break their bonds asunder" in one of my favorite songs from "The Messiah".

This word always puts me in mind of the brilliant if enigmatic Appalachian poet Bonnie Prince Billy's 'Death to Everyone', amongst my favourite ever songs (perhaps not for everyone!).

As Francis Bacon said 'If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties.' I would definitely be uninclined to trust anyone of unwavering certainty.
There are many good reasons to enjoy more lyrics that convey doubt, and that have an ambiguous nature, than those that are certain of their ground - depending on circumstances etc. of course!
