supple

Does anyone use this word in the sense of its original connotation, as in, submissive? Is it still used in that sense? To me, this is more in the vein of being physically flexible as opposed to the pejorative.

Only heard and read "supple" as applying to the body, as a supple gymnist.

I had one of those aha moments. Supplicant. A supplicant is submissive.

And if one is looking for a thin branch to use as a switch, a supple one would be best.
