Aye, it is a good word for the climes that have cold winters. I hope they have plenty of brisk tea to keep them warm, too.

And hot chocolate.
Our weather here is anything but brisk unless one can
freeze brisk. Another 6 inches of snow last night and
the temps, as usual after snow, go into the minus
figures tonight. I just glanced at my outside
thermometer, and see it could not take any more, and
broke: it reads +120 F. Poor thing.
