Tittle
Re: Tittle
I see your point, David LJ. Now can you find any supporting authorities?
Re: Tittle
Echoing Slava's query to DavidLJ, the only Hebrew connection to tittle I know of is somewhat indirect. I think Perry Lassiter will appreciate this, also.
Does anyone remember the great NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Y.A. Tittle? Bet ya didn't know that 'Y.A.' stood for Yelberton Abraham. With apologies to anyone here named Yelberton, now I know why he was called 'Y.A.'! Abraham was called 'Avraham ha'Ivri' (Gen. 14:13) -- Abraham the Hebrew. The word 'ivri' comes from 'avar' -- on the other side. Thus, Abraham the Hebrew was "the one who stands on the other side." The entire world stood on one side, with Abraham standing firm on the other.
We now have a clear connection, Slava, of tittle < -- > Hebrew
1) Tittle
2) Yelberton Abraham Tittle
3) Abraham HaIvri
4) Hebrew
How was that for a Hail Mary pass? Oops ..mixing Bibles.

Re: Tittle
You have given us your ideas on iota and tittle:Now, would you kindly tell us why no professionals, at least those who are on the Internet, agree with you? Quoting recognized, authoritative sources would greatly improve your claims. I encourage you to attempt to prove your case. Both are obviously of Hebrew and/or Aramaic provenance: yod and titl.

Re: Tittle
David, can you cite the reference in the Hebrew Bible to tittle? I only know of from the New Testament.

Thanks, it did sort of fit, didn't it. All this jot and tittle
talk made me think of whales and the itty-bitty plankton
that they eat.
